The Alpha's Innocent Witch

The Alpha's Innocent Witch

Her innocence - a tangled destiny.

He found himself entranced by the sight of her celestial being. Even shrouded in grief, she looked ethereal. In her eyes, a phoenix mourned with a stricken lament. She looked hauntingly beautiful, cloaked in sorrow so profound the world, too, inhaled in pain.

Her gaze, cast upon the world, reflected the agony of its inhabitants. Her form radiated anguish as she endured their suffering, even amidst the stars. His heart longed to end the depth of her despair, to embrace her eternal form in his arms, enveloped in the warmth of his love and the beats of his heart. The shine of a tear escaping the confines of her ageless eyes propelled him to her side.

She cast her glow in the meadow of vitality. The howls of the aged conveyed their gratitude, the air painted with their hues of appreciation. The giggles of the young spoke their hearts, a tale of timelessness full of joyous laughs.

A flicker, a blink and she was trapped on the ripped ground, of tragedy and traps.

She stood a silent empath amidst pain and pleadings. The wails of the victims haunted her like a chorus of untold suffering. The shrill cry reverberated through her being. She felt herself drenched in the red of shattered lives. She died an eternity in the hours of that cruel sight.

She shivered as his presence pierced through the veil of truthful illusions that had ensnared her. The red of cruelty shone with the red of his heart. His whispers drowned the wails as they resonated in the chambers of her mind. She lived an eternity in the minutes of his tender light.

"When will the torture end?"

She heard the real question, "When will you stop torturing yourself ?"

His outward demeanor belied the hidden layer of emotions hinted at by the subtle nuances of his expression. The slightly tighter hold, the change in the exhale of air, and the small twitch in the corner of the jaw gave his worry away.

Her mate even though intimately familiar with her very existence thought she could circumvent the weaves of fate. Being the deity of the supernatural, the moon goddess, didn't give her the leeway to keep herself away from pain.

He knew she experienced the joy of birth and the pain of death equally. And above all, she embraced the hurt from the destruction brought open her beloveds with empathy. But his existence was but a mere extension of her and he felt vulnerable seeing her distraught.

"They are going to meet soon."

Her words gave him assurance - a flicker of hope rekindled in the face of her suffering.

"You don't doubt my chosen one?" she asked quietly.

"I have faith in you," he replied.

He knew of her chosen. He had watched over the personification of radiant light when his mate fretted in restlessness.

He could just hope that her innocence prevailed over her destiny in fate's cruel tapestry.

Author's Note:

Welcome to the world of supernaturals. Here the witches are witchy and wolves are enormous. We invite you to join us in the story of two crazy leads so unlike the moon goddess and her mate. This is a glimpse into a world from the moon goddess's eyes. Unlike this, the story will be full of humor.
